Drivers being distracted and NOT paying attention to what they are doing. Many are cause by people yakking on the cell phone, when they should have there full attention focused on what is in front of them. |

INATTENTIVENESS caused by reading, eating, drinking, drowsiness, ignorance, lack of skill, doing makeup, shaving, messing with hair, smoking, beating children, playing with a stereo, not checking mirrors and/or TALKING ON THE CELL PHONE!
Modern vehicles can adjust for body roll, have traction control, active stability control, ABS, airbags, cruise control, climate control, heated/cooled seats, GPS navigation, DVD players, power steering, self-adjusting headlights, automatic ride height adjustment, all-wheel drive and variable valve timing, but THEY STILL DON'T DRIVE THEMSELVES! This is why you still have to pay attention when driving; sorry to burst your bubble. |

Speed - Americans drive too fast and/or follow too close. Speeding is the number one violation and causes accidents because people are going too fast to react properly.
In my class, speeding is about 50% of the violations I get, with the other 50% scattered across all other violations. |

Mothers who drive around with unrestrained kids whilst smoking! How distracting. I watch a mother today who had her teenage daughter in the front seat with her, unrtestrained like her, whilst her 3 other kids jumped around in the back seat, and the mother was busy lighting a cigarette for her daughter whilst doing 60 on the freeway. How ******* dumb could you be. |
