What is the slimmest booster seat available on the market?
Find answers to your legal question.

What is the slimmest booster seat available on the market?

We have twins on the way, and we need better options for fitting all three of our kids across the bench seat in the back of our Ford Windstar minivan. Currently, our boy is in a Cosco backless booster, and the two girls are still in convertible car seat/boosters. We need to find the narrowest seats we can to fit all three kids across the back, and still have room to find the seat belt buckles! We can cram the seats we currently have in there, but it's murder trying to get to the seat belts. Anybody have any suggestions?

We do have the latch system - but still have to use the regular seat belts. Sorry - I should have been more clear - they are in the convertible booster seats that use the over-the-shoulder seat belts, rather than the 5-point harness. In BC, Canada, they have to use a booster seat until they are at least eight years old or eighty pounds, but at this point they are so tall that no five pointer will fit them.

Does your minivan have the LATCH system? It could make it a lot easier installing the carseats. If it doesn't, you might want to look into contacting your local Ford dealership about how to update that.

Otherwise, I'd say just go to your local baby's r us if possible. Ours literally has rows upon rows of carseats out for people to look at (and a practice car-bench to show how to install them.)

I found the following sites though that might help. The first is a car seat that is 17 inches across (they even have a picture of triplets in their seats in the back of an SUV...) The second link is a way of looking for car seats that might fit in your car (but it seems pretty incomplete to me.)

Add: Sorry for the thumbsdown... not sure what I said that doesn't work. But honestly, if it was me I'd go where there's a display of as many car-seats as possible and take my measuring tape. I just think you'll get more accurate results that way. Baby's R Us where I live has the most complete collection of car seats for people to look at... so I'd start there. I wouldn't necessarily buy from them though.

And the booster seats actually, they do have a lot of those as well. To me... that's just what I'd do.

Ask your local police department or CAA office if there are any certified child passenger safety technicians in your area. You're best off getting professional help.
