Drinking and driving shows how immature and careless a person is when it relates to themselves and others around them. Driving drunk is never a good idea. It impairs your judgment, and many have died or been seriously injured due to someone's negligence. Drinking and driving only causes more heartache. There is nothing cool or good about it. You are a hazard waiting to happen. I am glad that over the years the media has become a lot better in terms of making drivers and people aware in general about the dangers of driving drunk. The more intervention we have, the more prevention there will be. We have the ability to save lives. But as long as you have ignorance and poor judgment that is when lives are lost and people's families are forever changed. I say no to drunk driving, and yes to higher penalties to keep them off of the road. |

If you are going to drink while driving, use a straw.
As for alcoholic beverages, here's the skinny. Alcohol is a drug. It is a depressant, which causes one to lose reaction time, physical coordination and mental awareness. It is available in many forms, such as cold medicine, beer, wine, and hard liquor. These are available OTC. Its purchase is restricted to those 21 and older. Except for this age limitation, it is very legal to consume in any quantity. And because one can drink as much of the substance as possible, it is also very addictive. Every year, more than a few people OD on alcohol and some die from alcohol poisoning - fairly quickly. Alcohol will also destroy the liver, which also results in a slower and more debilitating death.
All things in moderation. If one wants to party, get a lift. |

It's incredibly stupid, selfish, and is something thinking adults should never, ever do. If you're drinking, have a designated driver or cab fare. Simple as that. If you don't, then don't drink or don't drive, one or the other. |

Drinking and driving is one of the most irresponsible things a person can do! |

Well its wrong and people should not do it because the Federal Bureau of Investigations Uniform Crime Reporting Program
estimated that over 1.4 million drivers are arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
This is an arrest rate of 1 for every 139 licensed drivers in the United States. |

It's idiotic.
For the price of taxi fare, you can ruin your life, maybe maim or kill someone, have a police record, and cause your family way too much angst.
And the EXPENSE!! Just the risk of thousand dollar fines is enough to deter me from ever having a sip and getting behind the wheel. |

I think it's stupid and irresponsible and putting your life and the lives of others in danger. When people drink though they seem to think that they can drive really well and sometimes they think they can drive better than sober. I know frineds who drink and drive but to them its not a big deal and i am guilty of riding in the car with them. When you drink you lose your sense of whats right. But some people have no conscience at all about it though |
