What kind of cars are best for people who are first time drivers?

For first time drivers, I would suggest that you get a good,
used car about 5 years old which is alot cheaper on the car
market to buy and it's not so heart-breaking when crashed it
by yourself. The size, shape or make of a car depends on
your liking and affordability too. A smaller car with the basic
standards will do.

Old cars, perhaps late '80's or '90's, preferably. One stands to learn a lot in these cars. And then tomorrow you can always dispose these or keep for your kids and you graduate to brand new cars. I did the same thing.

Get a used Honda. They hold their value, are cheap on gas, and are very inexpensive. Plus they are pretty cool for the younger generation. It wont be something they are ashamed of driving.

depends on the person, some people cant drive big cars, i learned in a avalanche, basically i would say anything thats not a fast sport car and the driver feels comfortable driving

a really good used Toyota corolla is the ideal car to have there reliable,,and look good,,and very fuel efficient,and also you can find them fairly cheap ,,and there going to out last most of the other cars on the road,,and there dependable..and that's what everyone wants to find in a car these days,,that would be what id get if i was a new driver,,i own a repair shop,,and these cars don't give very much trouble,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

I would check into a dodge neon, they are sporty, cheap, good performance if you got a 5speed and lots of upgrades, cuz you know that is alot of getting a car your first time and they are really great in accidents, I rolled one twice doing 90mph and it only rolled twice cuz it came to a sudden stop, I had a small scratch on my forehead and was sore, but that is it... great all around car... also cheap on insurance which is a major plus

Young or old? First car should be expendable and strong. Learning can be really hard on body work. More young people die because we have failed in teaching them how to control cars. Kids with kids at night is really dangerous. Boys show off and drive to fast. 5,000 solders died in wars last 16 months and 22,000 15 to 20 year old kids died in cars. But if you have to let them loose make sure the tires are good and car has a good frontal crash test rating. Working air bags and seat belts worn at all times.

I think not a very nice car. You should get a older car like in the 90's so that way if you crash you won't be out of a brand new car
