What should be done about the young idiots in cars that make are roads hell by driving dangerously?

I know it sounds weird coming from a 22 year old male, seeing how it is statistically I am supposed to be one of the extreme wreckless drunk drivers out there, but I agree that something needs to be done about this situation. But sadly enough unless you are willing to take the law into your own hands, and possibly get in a lot of trouble with the law if you get caught, there is nothing you can do.

You can try and get pictures, video, proof of any kind on the person(s) you see doing this kind of immature acts that can put others in danger and disturb those who work for a living, etc., but the law will not do anything unless they are the ones that see it. A police officer has actually told one of my friends that when he kept turning in a person who was always running stop signs and driving wrecklessly around his neighborhood where his little kids played as well as other kids, and old people lived around there as well.

The police did nothing, kept telling him they would keep an eye on him and eventually he would screw up in front of them, but come on, that answer is just stupid! So he and I one day saw this person doing it again, we ran out into the road, yeah we could have been hit by his vehicle, but that was our only way of stopping him. When he yelled for us to get out of his way we pulled out our baseball bats and asked him to knock off his driving habits.

Never did we threaten the guy, he could have turned us in for that, but the baseball bats let him know what was on our mind. I dont know if my friend was willing to use it, but I am always up for taking the law into my own hands, and didnt care if that guy was hurt in the process of making the point to him. Since then he has however knocked off his driving habits. Sorry for the long story, but I am trying to let you know what you have to be willing to do. Because the police only care about you if they see it, and those neighborhood watches are basically pointless, they do some good, but if you are that bothered, then you will be willing to do these kind of acts.

Also you cant think of it as you may or may not hurt them, you have to think of it like, they can hurt innocent little kids who are just trying to play in a nice neighborhood. As for the music, follow them to their house next time you see or hear it, and ask them to turn their radios down when driving through your neighborhood. If they dont listen, damage their car in the middle of the night or something.

Well it's to easy to get a license in the first place. They hand them out at to early an age.Also everyone should have to be retested including road test every two years. And I agree 100 per cent on the stupid baby stickers.

They should have to pass an extra test in order to drive called the "i'm not a chavvy moron" test. 90% would fail i reckon.

It makes my blood boil when these absolute idiots get behind the wheel of a car either drunk or driving too fast and some innocent law abiding pedestrian or other driver is killed. They never get prosecuted and if they do, they get a couple of months - for taking someone's life. In my view, it should be classed as murder. Even the thickest of people should understand that if you are driving 80 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone or, if you have been drinking there is a fairly high chance you will kill somebody.

I am sure your question will generate lots of responses! This is a growing problem throughout every state in our nation. Some think "wreckless" driving is... Cool, Others feel accidents happen to somebody else. Reality- Driving laws & rules of the road not only need to be enforced but should include tougher peanalties once they are 'REPEAT" offenders via traffic court! In addition if the offender is not compliant in paying fines and is making no attempt to do so, the state or local municipality should enact laws to not only revocate the offenders license but also sieze and auction off the vehicle !!!

You know what would be great; if we could have a national holiday where only the elderly and young punks can drive all the roads.
Do you know how difficult it would be to get back behind the wheel after a major acccident?. I don't mean to sound too pissed off, but I save people from dying on the roads everyday. Oh, and let's include the idiot cell phone users who weave in and out of their lanes while they speed up and slow down FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON.They might drive a little better after they get out of the hospital. If not, wait til the next year and let them clear out their own population groups on their very own holiday..

I suggest compulsory driving lessons in school as most of these young guys who think they are flash are just little morons who havent a clue how to drive a car properly.

it's not just the young'uns, I had a horrible drive home from work, I feel like I'm driving an obsticle course and none of them people were young at all, they should know better......oh god I'm off.........especially those with the damn baby on board things in their windows, if you're worried about your baby then don't pull out in front of me at a junction you're supposed to stop at without looking........deep breaths

I'm not a young'un, but I'm not old either.
