What should i do now that the guy who hit me didn't file a report or pay my bill?

What should i do now that the guy who hit me didn't file a report or pay my bill?

In the beginning of March, I was a pedestrian crossing the street (I totally had the right of way), and some guy was making a left turn. He hit me, and although I was OK, he barely gave me his info and didn't stick around for the cops...neither did I, but I had no idea what was going on; i was in shock.

so, after i went to the urgent care clinic, i filed a report at the DMV and now, my insurance company billed me. I live in OR. who should I call to get this taken care of? I was extremely inconvenienced and in pain for weeks. this guy hit a kid and drove off. he had like a 10 minute max inconvenience. I don't think it's fair to let this guy get away with it.

any advice, just in general? thanks

I would go to the local law enforcement center and get with them on the accident. If you even have just his name, they will be able to track him down. Also most intersections now are going to have cameras at them to take pictures of cars running red lights. It may be a chance that it was caught on tape.

I would recommend contacting the guy and talk to him. Give the guy maybe a month or two to resolve the issue. If he tries to blow you off, repeatedly hangs up on you, doesn't answer your calls/emails, etc. file a lawsuit. I would recommend filing the lawsuit in small claims court. You will need to prove you had the right of way, provide paperwork backing up your medical costs, and maybe add money for pain and suffering. Hope your feeling better and good luck!

you obviously have a problem. I would think you'll be responsible for your injuries cuz there's no one else to blame. Ifyou have enough info. contact the police (hit and run). also give whatever bits of info. you have to your insurance carrier. they have ways to track down perps. I forgot to mention that since you're a kid (minor), you may have to have a parent verify your injuries, along with the clinic that treated you. be prepared to engage a personal injury lawyer
