What steps should I take, at the scene, if I'm in a car accident?

First off, call the police. Even if it's really minor. And take as many pictures as possible. Always try to get as much info as possible from other driver. expecialy if they don't want to.
If the other driver dosn't want to call the ploice, trade info or stick around, take down as much info about the driver and there car/truck as you can. It will really help you when you are talking to your insurance agent. Good luck

Well first thing is to determine the condition of yourself and others and take the approprite action and then call the police, if no bodily injuries are present then I would proceed to exchange insurance info and if you happen to have a camera take as many pictures as possible before the scene is cleaned up that way they cant say it happened after the fact.

take care of life and limb first, get you and all participants to a safe place in case there are subsequent accidents caused by the obstruction in the road, If there is fire involved, I discourage any attempt to extinguish anything except the smallest the flame as this can very quickly evolve into a non survivable situation for you; call 911 and ask for assistance

I agree with the answer that the one gave you. But you should also get the other persons insurance info and get statements and contact info from any witnesses that may have seen the accident occur.

I drive a truck and have seen many accidents. Although the answers given are correct, the very first thing is to get your vehicle out of the roadway if at all possible. All of that "check for injuries" stuff is great but wont mean diddly when the next driver, not paying attention, slams into your car.

If you can't move the car, get away from it, get to the side. How many videos do you need to see of people slamming into other cars that are stopped on the roadway before that sinks in?

If you can't move the car or injuries prevent it, then get out and warn other drivers that are approaching. Just putting on the hazard lights is not enough. Wave a shirt, a light, something. There are so many people with cell phones that you really don't need to worry about calling the police. They have already been called 10 times in 1 minute after a crash.

Stay in the car and call 911. You never know you may be hurt. A neck injury doesn't reveal itself for about 3 days. Wait for police and ambulance. Now if the people who are in the other car come out with guns. Run until there is no more ground:ocean.

First make sure you and your passesngers (if any are all alright) call for police and any other assisntance you may need.. Try to see if other driver/pedestrian are alright, do not leave your car.

Try and stay calm,check for injuries,don't touch anyone that is injured, just cover them, call the police/ ambulance ,exchanged information with the people involved.

Ensure no one is injured. If anyone is injured call for police, ambulance and fire. If the accidnet is only causing an obstruction then call the police. Don't move people out of cars if they feel pain anywhere.
