What the procedure for paramedics for a car accident? What questions do they ask?

When I had my car accident my cousin was unconscious and on the way to the hospital in the ambulance they asked if the patient remembers anything the impact, what day it is, what their name is, what year it is, what month it is etc.

1. Triage. Find out how many people you have, where they hurt, and if they know what's going on. Not knowing whats going on is a big sign that something bad is happening.
#2. Call for additional units if needed.
#3. Utilize resources on scene. If Fire Dept first responders are only there, tell them to take care if the minor injured and to have them c-collared, backboarded and placed in the ambulance. Paramedics stay with the critical patients. One critical patient per ambulance only. Two patients can be in the ambulance at once, but only 1 critical.
#4. Simple ABC's. Airway, Breathing, Circulation, (HEART BEATING) must be happening in the pt before transport or during. So, they have a open and patent airway, they must be breathing or we are breathing for them. (intubated) and they must have a heart beat or at least have a medic doing compressions. Even after that, if they have a big cut or what have you, they must make sure that they are not bleeding out. Compressions and ignoring that every time you compress the chest, blood squirts out the leg would be eventually futile if you didn't deal with that big way to lose your all your blood. Kinda need that when your doing compressions. And there's many other things inbetween, but, other than that, that's the main stuff. Contact your local 911 ambulance and see if you can't do a ride out. You'll see a lot more then and would be good for you.

As they are checking the bleeding to see how fast they need to extract the person, they will ask your name, roughly what time it is (check for disorientation due to head injury) If the bleeding is a main artery or the leg break is a compound fracture, in the femur (thigh bone) they will move as soon as they get a neck brace on, almost immediately as they are life threatening. Otherwise, they will check for internal injuries, blood pressure, pulse rate, look for medical alert bracelets and necklaces and ask where if any pain. Brace the neck and remove from car and place on backboard. For a broken leg, if they can saftely do so, they will splint it on route to hospital. They will ask a multitude of questions about family, friends, just to see how alert you are and to test reaction time of your thought process. They will check for any medical history, signs of dehydration, alcohol, and drug use.
