What to do on my road test?

Good questions.

1. There was a stop sign coming out of the parking lot to a side street at the DDS office in GA. It was partially hidden in the trees and back from the limit line of the intersection. The rule is to always stop at the line and not the sign. The sign tells you what to do, not where.

2. Check the driver's handbook for your state and see if there are any rules against waiting in an intersection to make a left. Usually, there is not because waiting behind the limit line to make a left can often mean that only one vehicle at a time can turn. And if you dart out on a yellow light, someone may try to get an early jump going across you and then 'bing.' Being about 1/3 of the way out in the intersection will often let at least 2 vehicles make the left and it tells cross traffic vehicles what you're intentions are and that you have the right of way until you make your turn. I always wanted my applicants to be in this position when doing road tests.

sha1gon is totally correct. Just make sure no more cars are coming thru on the yellow / red before you make your turn - even if the light turns red. If you don't pull into the intersection you will
a) be possibly waiting a very long time
b) have a bunch of pissed-off drivers behind you

1) Stop before the stop sign.
2) For your road test, if it's green but cars are coming don't move into the intersection! Wait behind the line until the coast is clear before you make the turn, you do not want to be stuck in the road if the light turns red. You could possibly fail your test if you do so because it's considered running a red light.

1. Usually the two are fairly close together..but you should be stopping at the stop line.

2. You pull into the intersection..if the light turns yellow you should be able to make your turn before it turns red unless there are people running the red light.

1. Stop at the stop sign make shore its safe to go on and stop at the stop line and cheque again,some intersections allow for heavy vehicles to cross on to your side of the road this is why you have a stop sign before the stop line.
2 pull into the intersection and make the turn,if this is across traffic move onto the intersection wait until safe to complete the turn (for people who drive on the right side of the road)can not be failed for entering a turn will the light is green.
