You'd hit your head and spin in the direction the train is going. Hopefully after you spun, you'd get knocked to the platform instead of falling thru the gap or in between the cars in which you'd get dragged.

OK, I've seen the results of this and its not pretty. As an Ambulance Driver I've responded to Car vs train, bicyclist vs train, pedestrian vs train in all the various permutations, including person off the platform into the side of the moving train. Invariably the train wins. And the loser is usually in no shape for even a trip to a hospital. |

my friends dad fell asleep while waiting for a train to pass, his foot came off the brake and his ford ranger idled into the side of the train. It just spun the car the direction the train was going and out away from the train. He was shook up but he was fine. But Im sure if you hauled balls into the side of a train you would die. |

It would depend on how fast you were going, and how fast the train was going. If you survive you would be ticketed for failure to follow a traffic control device. And your insurance would pay for any damage to the train or track since the train always has right of way, you are automatically at fault. |
