The 5th wheel or gooseneck, is certainly more stable and much more maneuverable (SP?) than a bumper-pull. I used to pull a flatbed gooseneck with my pickup, and there's certainly a HUGE difference.

Both Ball Hitch and 5Th wheel are trailers. If you have the choice between similar trailers choose the 5Th wheel - they tow like a dream and never sway or push your tow vehicle from side to side when you encounter cross winds or uneven pavement. This is because the piviot point is almost directly over the rear axle so the loads are distributed very evenly. I know - I own one and my truck actually handles better when towing than it does empty!

A 5th wheel is a trailer.
A 5th wheel is easier to turn around and to tow, but are generally longer than a hitch tow trailer.
Passengers can legally ride in a 5th wheel on the road in many states.
I tow a 27' enclosed trailer (toy box style) behind my F 350 and it tows nice. If my truck was not so tall (on 37" tires) I would much rather tow a 5th wheel.

For complete and over safety and handling go with the 5th wheel.....

You have more controll with a 5th wheel. A trialer you have to by extra parts like a sway bar, and leveling bars.
