~ Traffic had been zooming along nicely at the end of a holiday weekend - averaging 70-75 - then BAM, everything slows down. I'm looking around going "Wha? Whas going on?" - then I see the CHP officer. Grrr.
~ I'm kinda mad about this guy slowing all of us down - I end up creeping past him in the slow lane - He glares at me like I'm a bug and throws on his lights, and pulls me over
~ I roll down my window - "Young man, I can't believe you would dare to pass me on the right - have you no compunction?"
~ I couldn't help myself, I started laughing at this cop tossing around his big words - I'm cracking up and saying 'compunction' under my breath to my GF...
~ I got a ticket for 58 in a 55. I was lucky I didn't get arrested the guy was so mad at me! |

No me, but one of my girlfriends. She was doing 70 in a 35 as she was running real late for a meeting with her lawyer as she was in the middle of getting divorced. The cop read her the riot act. I think it was because she had three unrestrained kids in the car. She died in a smash two years later, and so did her three daughters. She slammed into a tree at approx 60mph (Reported by the cops) It was a 30 zone. No one was restrained, and all were ejected from the car, all through the windscreen. Her fifteen year old daughter was holding her 4 year old sister on her lap, and her 6 year old was standing between the seats. I know, as I watched her driving off that morning, and I told her once again that she should buckle every one up. She laughed as usual, and said I'm a good driver, and nothing will happen to me. She was only 33 at the time. It was really sad. |
