Its a hell of a good law. How would you hear that oncoming, out of sight emergency vehicle.

Good law, as they block out sounds that a driver needs to pay attention to...like, um, SIRENS, horns, etc.

It makes absolute sense. With headphones, you are not likely to hear sirens or horns. Also, you cannot be concentrating 100% with music blaring in your ears.

However, the same can be said for listening to loud music on your car stereo.

its dangerous to wear headphones while driving. what if your crossing the railroad , you wont hear the train coming then...

You can only have one ear covered on any highway in the US. You have to hear what is around you. I have no problem with that.

I think it's fair.

When people listen to headphones while driving they are unaware of the audiovisiuals that are going around them such as: hearing sirens...honking... etc. etc.

Hearing sirens is important because you don't want the fire truck, cop, or ambulance to crash into you for not pulling over. Honking-people are supposed to use their horn to prevent serious accidents.

It's just really bad to listen to your headphones. If you have an ipod, they make tons of stuff that can comply with your radio in your car and you can listen to it in your car.

Just my opinion.

It's a good law. You should be able to hear your surroundings while driving. There are many things that are already in place to distract drivers. This will save many lives.

It's a good one.

In Calif, it is permitted to wear a single headphone, but you always have to have at least one ear uncovered so you can hear emergency sirens, warning signals or horns from trains and other vehicles.

I guess if you don't mind getting wiped out by an oncoming train with the engineer frantically blowing the horn, then it doesn't matter, does it? Some people will do what they want, regardless of the law.

One of the FEW laws I don't disagree with. I hope you're smart enough to know why this law exists.

Makes perfect sense. You should be able to hear whats going on around you. Especially emergency vehicles.

Its a good safe law. The law should include loud stereo use for the same reason.

It's a great law because it totally blocks out everything except for your music. You can't hear traffic or anything going on around you.

Driving is a full time job. As you see from all the accidents of people crossing over the roads while Texting, phoning, etc. with headsets on you restrict one more of your senses.

IT does mute what you need to hear like a car honking, a driver yelling, "MOOVE!" dogs barking, the beeping of a reversing big truck. I wear them while I bike ride and have experienced all these things. It is easy to get hurt if you cannot defend yourself against these threats by avoiding them if you are not aware of them.

I believe that if you are jamming out on headphones you will not be able to hear the above mentioned things but the impact is much greater because you are dealing with cars, not just a bicyclist.

Hello
good.. many times ive driven with my system up and not heard police and ambulance sirens until they're *THERE* right in front of me, zooming past or across a junction.

headphones would block out more sound than just my car speakers, so no, it's damn dangerous.
