When's the last time you checked all the lights on your car? The running, the turn signals, the brake lights?

This morning just before we drove to town. I check all my lights, fluids and tire pressures every Saturday morning. And I have five vehicles.

At least once each day, the first time I get ready to go out. I back into my carport so that I can see my rear turn indicators and brake lights reflected on the wall behind me. I start the car and check headlights and front indicators before starting out. ( I confess that I do neglect to check my side running lights in my older car.) This also gives me a chance to look at my tires. This is no more difficult a habit than checking my rearview and side mirrors.

Then, of course, about once a week, usually on a weekend, I check my engine oil, tranny fluid and windshield washer resevoir levels and tire tread. (not even ten or fifteen minutes worth of time)

If I could include, in my regular habits, checking the condition of my spare tire on a regular basis instead of just when getting ready for a trip, I would consider myself a VERY responisble driver, indeed. But I promise myself that I WILL work on that.

You should do a walk around at least once a month checking all lamps signals tire condition signs of dripping missing parts and overall condition of the vehicle.

I work at night so I see them pretty much daily lol. I don't turn them on and walk around to check them, but I'd know if my headlights aren't working when I'm trying to drive down the road. I check my parking lights by having a remote starter that turns them on, and glance at my brake lights after I am driving I glance back when my foot is on the brake.

Last time it was a month ago, when one of the turn signals light bulbs burned out and I took the car to a mechanic to get it fixed, they also checked all the other lights. Next time it will probably be when another light bulb burns out, lol.

I check my parking lights every morning after I start it to warm up. I turn them on and do a walk around.

When it's dark you can check the turn signals without getting out of the vehicle. Just look in the outside mirror for whichever side of the turn signal you are checking and see the ground light up. For the front (since I park facing my garage) I just look at the reflection on the garage door.

You should check all the lights EVERY DAY, but at least once a week.

I check my car lights every time I tow a trailer. this can be anything up to a month.

I check my motorcycle lights every time I ride in the dark or dusk.

I check tractor lights time I get the tractor out.
