Find a gap in traffic in the lane you wish to move into.
# Activate your turn signal.
# Check traffic ahead of and behind you to ensure it is clear.
# Check traffic one lane over from the lane you’re going to move into to make sure no other car is trying to move into the same spot. This is extremely important.
# Use the side mirror to ensure that your blind spot is clear. I also like to check over my shoulder to be doubly sure there is no one coming. |

So i'm pretty sure this is it:
1) Signal your blinker
2) Check all your rearview mirrors
3) Look over your shoulder (in your designated direction) to check your blind spots
4) Merge into lane
Im a good driver...lol |

merge into lane
once in lane Then turn blinker off....not the one blink you should have seen it and I squeeze you off the road type of maneuver! |

1. Check mirrors
2. If clear, check blind spot
3. If clear, use turn signal (let be flash 2-3 times, then turn it off)
4. Move in intended lane
Also, watch for other traffic in other lanes and let faster drivers by first. Only move in a lane if your speed is close to the speed of the cars in the lane you want to get into. If you can see the headlights of the car you want to move in front of with 2 car lengths in your mirror, it's safe to move as long their speed and your speed is close. Don't slow down to make lane changes. Lane changes should be made simple, fast, and while maintaining the same speed. |

"Observation, Show Intent, check safety, enact" is what's normally expected...
you may be thinking about one of the following additional steps:..
#"Consider if the manoeuvre is necessary/ can be completed safely" (before/during sequence)
#"Wait for a few seconds" (after starting signal:--- a VERY common "fault")
#"cancel signal" (after completing/abandoning manoeuvre)
---
I'll also look over my shoulders too/check other lanes to help ensure I'm not moving into anyone elses imediate path. |
