When defrosting your car windshield, are you supposed to use hot air or cold air?

Hot air. Have the temp turned to hot..
However, if it is also very humid, you can turn on the AC. This will remove some of the water from the defrost air before it reaches the windshield, but you still want the temp turned all the way to hot.

Besides turning on the heater/defroster, open both front door windows just a little - maybe 3/4 inch. This will help circulate and expel humid air in the vehicle.

well , being as cold won't defrost cold , I suppose a half way intelligent person would use hot.

Turn on the defrost option in your vehicle. It should be set to the highest heat on a low speed.

Higher speeds actually fan out colder air than a lower setting.
