When i take a driving test....?

...do i have to put both hands on the steering wheel? because i wasnt taught like that and it would be hard for me to change it. i'm used to driving with one hand on the bottom of the steering wheel and thats it, i cant drive with 2 hands.

i dont know if i will ever even take a driving test or classes, but if i did, would they understand that?

You should get your money back from whoever taught you to drive. With only one hand on the bottom of the steering wheel, you do not have full control of your vehicle. As an examiner, I would feel at least uneasy about your handling ability. That is the biggest part of the road test - making the examiner feel that you know what you are doing and that you can maneuver the vehicle - quickly if need be.

Just keep your mitts on the wheel at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions.for going straight and taking curves. OK to use one hand for right and left turns. This is just for the test. You'll find later on that you may want to use several hand-on-wheel positions - especially on long hauls.

While it may not be "required," it'll definitely inspire more confidence in your driving evaluator if you drive with both hands on the steering wheel. It's safer and it really shouldn't be that hard to adjust.

u have to drive with 2 hands.i was the same way but if u want to pass and get ur license u have to use 2 hands and u better just get usd to it for the test

Yes you will have to drive with both hands on the steering wheel. Usually your left hand at about 10 oclock and your right hand at about 2 o clock. If you have know the judgement of turning in your vehicle this shouldn't be a problem. Yes i know it looks cheesy driving with both hands but in a way if a deer jumps out in front of you how are you gonna react or someone runs a stop sign and you have to swerve, how would you do that with one hand underneath the steering wheel

it was hard for me because i did like using two hands. but it was only like 10miles for my drivers test but you should start to do that before you test.
