hi luke, well for such a llaw to be passed it takes much time and once such a law is passed it takes even more time to come into action so altough an age rise is on the cards it wont be until years after youve passed. hope this helps |

Tuesday - I think is when the law changes |

I think they should lower it if anything because if you can pass the test, you should be able to drive. Maybe they should make the test a little harder and leave the age where it is. I don't know where you live so I don't have the answer to your question.
Good Luck |

it'll take years for that law to come in but when it does i cant see it making a difference i would like to see the age stay the same but a 5year ban for any motoring offence commited within the first 3years maybe this would make kids think before they acted like f1 drivers on the highway |

I feel sorry for you but in South Carolina the driving age is 16...either wait or beg to move to another state... |

yes it is being risen at the end of this year to age 18,sorry dude |

I dont think increasing age would change a thing
only difference is uinstead of having 18 19 years old inexperianced u would ave lets say 25 26 year olds inexperainced driving is esential especialy for getting a job
most people dnt even pass there test till they r 19 or wotever and dnt bother learning alot of the time till there 18 its a stupid idea |

hmm in all states they've thought about changing it. in some states the limit is 16 (like florida, where i live) and some is 17 and others are already at 18. Therefore, you would have to say what state you are in because each state makes there own rules. and i don't think minimum driving ages change frequently, i know that in florida i was always scared they would change it to 17 or 18 but they never did. |

That rumor goes around, but it's unlikely the states will ever do it. Unless, of course, you are in North Carolina.
Applying for a Driver License or Learner Permit?
Driving is a legal privilege and responsibility. If you are 18 years of age or older you may apply for an original North Carolina driver license or a learner permit. |

Infact I think rather than someone being killed several peoples lives will be saved. Young drivers can be excellent, hope you will be sensible. I do know people who have died due to young mainly male drivers showing off, one friend of mine was decapitated in an accident so am keen to make sure everyone is mature enough and safe enough to be on the road. Unfortunately like anything the few idiots in society spoil it for all. |
|

u kno i have the best answer!!
|
Uhhh If they are going to change the law it is going to be for the pple born in 1997 and up i think... ur fine cuz it has to go through all of those pple before they can officially make it a law and that will take a while... |

It could, but I hope not! I don't have my licence yet, either. |

To all the americans using this site and asking what state ppl are in... please look to the top of the page and find that this is the UK and Ireland yahoo so please go back to school and learn to read, as for 16 year olds being able to drive over there,,, well thats just complete crap i mean seriously the president shouldn't even be in charge over there as it was all rigged but to allow obnoxious teens who can barely read to drive earlier than us is just ludicrous. as for my answer im still trying to find out a date but i think that Dazza13 has the best answer for you. |

Anyways, good luck on it all. |

They're not going to. Teenagers start rumors to get other teenagers riled up. It's just a rumor. What state are you in anyway? |
|

rlly? it prob depends on which state u live in. i dont think they will in jersey tho. |

I think that it should be. Too many teenagers are killed because they can't weigh risks like adults can. |
|

tacho
|
to be honest it wants to be raised to 21 |
|

:)
|
Really soon, since less than 25% of the people on the road are teenagers and over 75% of accidents involve them. |

This is a VERY good idea to put the driving age up to 18. It will save loads of young lives every year. |
