To the right, so if the car rolls backwards it will roll off the road and not into traffic. |

To the right. Put on your emergency break and all is well. Just don't forget it's on when you go to leave. |

Your steering wheel should be turned RIGHT, anytime there is no curb(uphill or downhill). If someone wants to call me an idiot as well, then I suggest they get a Driver's manual because I am looking at mine. |

When parking uphill, you should turn the wheel to the right, put on the parking brake, and if you drive a manual, leave the car in first gear. |

--->Gary V: You didn't read all of the question, or didn't understand it. Read it thoroughly before you start slinging insults at people from your soapbox. In this instance you my friend, are the moron. So far everybody (that can read) got it right. You turn the wheel to the right, so that if something happens, the tail of the car will not roll into the roadway. |

I don't know who taught these morons above me....
When parking UP hill, you turn your wheels to the left. So if the something happens your cars front wheels will roll backwards into the curb. If you turn them to the right your front end would stick too far out if something happened.
I know this BECAUSE IT IS OPPOSITE of what you would do if you parked downhill. Which is the obvious thing to turn your wheels right, or into the curb, where your car would hardly move at all. |
