While parking outside apt brushed another car, no damange to either car. What now?

I brushed another car while parking outside my apt bldg. Once I felt the bump I decide to drive around the block and park inside my bldg. However I came to inspect the car immediately and I didnt see any damage to my car or to parked car. I went up to get a note, but when I came down, I didn't see the car anymore. What should I do now? I don't remember the plate of the car. Since there were some ppl walking around the time of the incident, I m worried this could be perceived as leaving scene of accident. Interestingly my car is new and doesn't have a plate yet. What should I do now?

I've actually been in this situation before. You have nothing to worry about. Since you left, and there was no damage then you aren't in any trouble. Now if there were damage to the other vehicle and you left, then what you have done is a hit and run. That is where it becomes unlawful. Also if someone saw you hit the vehicle along with there being damage and you leave they can get your license plate number and press charges. But I wouldn't worry about it. If there is no damage to the person's vehicle there is no foul. Just be more careful when driving.

If you called the cops and they looked at your car, saw no damage, no other car either, they would probably tell you to go inside and get some more sleep.

What accident? If you knock over some milk crates with your car and it makes a noise but there is no damage, is it an accident?

If there is property damage or injuries that is different, as these are components required in some way to label it as an accident.

Maybe you had the bass turned up too high on the stereo.

So youre lucky. you only left the scene of a not an accident.

Reports are usually only made when there is injury or damage.
