While pulling out from between cars do you have to check your blind spots?

Yes. You want to be sure that there are no other obstructions in your way when you are pulling out. It is best to check just in case. When driving you never want to assume anything. Check all of your mirrors, blind spots, turn your head to ensure it is clear and proceed to pull out. Assuming anything, whenever you are driving is almost certain to get you into an accident, so you always check where you are going and then make your move.

Seems an odd question; "Do you have to?"

Why would you not? When walking across a stream crossing a foot path, do you "have to" watch where you are stepping? Or do you trust that there will be a flat, dry stone appearing wherever your foot might be touching down?

When applying make up, does a woman "have to" look in a mirror? There is no rule that states so, but I thing virtually any woman would agree that this is a good idea.

Regaring blind spots in a car, you have to consider the reason they are called blind spots. It means you can't see approaching hazards by simply glancing in the rear and sideview mirrors. You CAN trust to luck and play the odds that there won't be any approaching danger and just pull out without looking. Chances are, you'll pull out and nothing bad happens. Or, you could trust that other drivers, as they approach you, will be able to read your mind or predict the future and, somehow, "know" whether or not you will pull out in front of them.

But experience has taught me that I can't "trust" to luck. I MAKE my own luck by checking the blind spots. I also don't trust the other drivers to stay out of my way. I "predict" my OWN future by taking action only when it is safe to do so.

Nope not at all.

You can go right ahead, pull out, and either hit something, or get hit by someone. That's totally up to you.

I don't know. Ask the child on his bike in your blind spot.

It might be an excellent idea.

Remember, the life you save might be your own.

If you got good reflexes you can get around other cars in time so you dont need to. I have'nt done it in a real car yet but my favorite game on PS3 is Midnit Club LA.
