Who has right of way in the event of an unmarked junction?

i am british so the UK law would be ideal , i was always taught it was give way to the right, but having an arguement with someone who claims nobody has right of way.

direct.gov nor dvla have an answer anyone on here help?

different county,s have different by law,s but in general in the uk and ireland you give way to the traffic approaching from the right????if in doubt and juction is unmarked it is safer for all to stop and wait for junction to clear,,,,kitt
