Who is more likely to tailgate on the road? male driver or female driver?

That stupidity doesn't seem to be restricted to men or women, although aggressive and threatening behaviour at the same time, like honking, flashing lights, shaking fists, are seen from more guys than gals.

I'd say it's 50/50 or close to it. There's a great way to deal with tailgater's, move to the right, as in slower traffic move to the right. If you're already to the right or on a one lane road and doing the posted speed then they are definitely out of line and need to back off.

I don't think there's much of a difference. Now if you had asked what type of vehicle, it would be easy. Large pickups and SUVs.

Ask the insurance agents, they do these kind of studies, regardless, why are you asking? I would say it has nothing to do with gender but more to do with the situation.... where, what lane, speed limits, etc.... My best answer is someone that is a very high risk driver, more than a "drunk driver" that should find another route unless they want to share their front seat with someone elses backseat when they slam on their brakes like I would. I hope they have lot's of insurance too! However, I can understand being aggresive in the left lane behind someone that does not know they should merge right and get out of the way. It's still takes a better driver to leave the situation and safely get to your destination without causing problems.

Statistics show that MALE drivers are more apt to tailgate than FEMALE drivers.

Men, as they tend to be more agressive drivers (but there are exceptions to every rule!).
