I was driving into a 2 way intersection and it had a green light. I was at driving towards the intersection which was clear and then a lady on the other side of the street was going the opposite way had a green for a left turn but it was a yield green. I enter the intersection and she makes a sharp left turn. I tried to avoid the accident by slamming on the break and turning to the side. Only my bumper, bumper absorber, and fender liner broke off. I got 2 witnesses and another one who was in the car with me. She said she wanted to settle without insurance but now shes going with her insurance.
So who was at fault? I'm 99% sure it was her

Is there anyway they might turn this on me? I wasn't speeding i was only going 25 and the speedlimit was 25.

Whether or not she had a green light, she had a Yield to make and she Failed to do so.
She is at Fault... NOT YOU...
Contact Your insurance company as well. Tell them what happened and when it happened and then you wait.
I had to wait 2 weeks before finding out that the other person Finally decided to report the accident. She was in NO hurry to report it due to she didn't want to deal with the issue at hand.
My car was less than a year old and I had a green light, and she had a Yield. She yielded, but, without hesitation, she drove across my lane to get to the left turning lane hitting my back end of my car.
when I went to get it repaired, the body shop took several photos of the car. This way, her insurance company could see that she was at fault and that there was No way I could have hit her from the way the car was damaged.

I agree with bundy'smom and others. She is at fault. But, why didn't you report it immediately both to cops, to get an accident report and to the insurance company. Some of our states have a time limit to report an accident! |
