Why are Asian car makers better than north American Car makers?

They are more in tune to the consumers' desires and the respond more quickly. Consumers want better vehicle dependability (durability) and fuel economy.

They use tighter quality control methods, resulting in fewer problems per vehicle.

U.S. car makers are trying to impress consumers with size and power, at the expense of quality and fuel economy.

The Asian transplants are not encumbered with labor unions that don't allow discipline of poor employees, allow drinking and drug use on the job, and insist on uncompetitive wage and benefits even when the company is losing tons of money. Now the Asians employ tens of thousands of Americans, pay good wages and without a union can run their businesses efficiently and react to market demand as they see fit.

Additionally, Asian carmakers start by designing cars based on what customers want to own rather than building what they want to build (or their union will let them build). The US has yet to build a decent small car, so when gas goes up to $3/gallon the writing is on the wall for them.

For years the Big 3 counted on brand loyalty rather than improving their products. It took years of ignoring the customer to get where they are, so it will take at least that long to come back. Unless they can dump the UAW they're not going to get there. It's a shame.

Because they are more inventive. and care more for the product to be good that to just get it done and recive the profit. they are harder working typically anyone not american is harder working.
