Why can't people learn the rules of the road?

Wow, that sure is rude. Alot of people have forgotten the rules of the road. In some states, I hear that they want to set up a system where a person has to take a refresher course every few years. That way, they can update people on new traffic laws and remind them how to drive correctly. It makes sense to me.

Most of us follow the rules and are courteous drivers, however this lame brain will soon be caught if the law is anywhere as aggressive as they are here( I personally think the roof may be leaking at the Police station,) they are out there ticketing profusely, and you know that there is no citation less then $ 100.00 now. Surely this lame brain will be caught soon in order to pay his share, for being so rude, and that should cool his jets!

every one thinks about them self only, and people are little bit greedy also , If there is a Bored called Dont over take , At that time only they will over take so like this there are many examples like this and also as you said also,

most of them just dont care anymore.they are all in such a hurry they dont care about anyones safety.and then they wonder why they have all these accidents. people like that dont belong on the road.

People i think are sometimes too up themselves.. they think they are the kings or queens of the road and everything should go by them.. u did the right thing so dont feel bad about it.

People are dumb and a lot of people choose to ignore the rules of the road. I think most people must have a fake license because the way they drive there is no way they possibly passed a drivers test.

And to technical difficult you are the exact A@# hole driver that needs your drivers license yanked for good too!!!! I don't feel the least bit sorry for you when you finally get into your well deserved accident either!!

All you can really do is make sure you teach your kids the right way. The next generation has to learn from someone.

Too many take Driver Ed and forget what they were taught as soon as they pass the test. What else should we expect when they learn it at high school? Hardly any of them can pass a GED 6 months after they get thier diploma.

People never learn to drive safely, and courteously in the first place. Driver license is a privilege, not a right to drive.

The service I work for are considering fitting in-cabin video cameras. They will serve to establish fault in an a collision, audit emergency driving habits and provide evidence on those who fail to give way. Would it have made a difference in the following story though?

An ambulance crew in my capital city were on their way to a critically injured motorcyclist. Despite lights and sirens one car would not give way and was clearly being an a-hole. License plate details were noted and passed to police via dispatch.
The delayed ambulance eventually got to the scene and transported the motorcyclist lights and sirens to hospital.
He died shortly after arriving at ED.
The crew were cleaning up their ambulance and debriefing the job when lo and behold the driver who failed to give way screeches into the car park and comes running over towards the paramedics. Of course he had been booked by the police and had decided to come and argue with the crew that reported him.
Actually no. He was looking for his son who had been involved in a traffic accident on his motorbike...
