isn't it dangerous for blind people to be driving in the first place? hmm... just wondering... certainly there must be a valid explanation? thanks.

I really got a kick out of your question, and yes I don't really think there are too many legally blind people driving, but to answer your question, the manufacturer put this on the machines for the people that are going to walk up atm's in banks, stores, malls, ect. It would not be cost effective for the manufacturer to make two different kinds of keypads. Kind of one size fits all. |

Because they only make one kind of machine...and they use them for both indoor and outdoor locations. So, if they put braille on the ones for indoors, there will be braille on the ones that you drive up to as well. |

Most of the people who drive are "blind" anyway. Maybe the company is trying to tell us something. The machines also have a spot where you can plug your headphones in. :) |

Not too long ago my AP English teacher brought this up...
Apparently, the same company makes ATMs and they don't change the mold to make separate keypads.
So it's just to save money. |

ok do you know how many people have asked this question, if you use a few brain cells you should be able to figure out that it is cost effective to only make one set of buttons and face plates. |
