Why would anyone drive so fast one can't see 75 feet ahead and then look surprised when they crash.

Ignorance. What they are doing is driving dangerously and they don't think that an accident can happen to them despite any given weather conditions. Those that drive that way are more likely to end up in an accident than those that drive safely and change due to any shifts in weather conditions. Those that drive dangerously take it for granted that the weather pattern changing can cause an accident. I think its a flaw in humanity. What I mean is, we as humans have the ability to be intelligent but some just don't use common sense. Common sense says, when the weather conditions change, I must adapt to that change as well to maintain a safe journey. Idiots exist all around us, but the thing we must do individually is drive safely regardless of what others do.

I since then realized it's not safe to drive that fast in those conditions even through other people are. I think since many cars have ABS, they think it's OK to drive fast in the rain or snow. But as far as heavy fog, that's beyond me. I think that'll be harder to see through.

because a lot of people don't understand the implications that weather has on driving and how much danger they are in, they are going on pure luck...

good question. if i know that my car or what ever im driving isnt gunna slide or whatever and i feel comfortable ill try my best to do the speed limit. but i dont trust anyone else especially in those conditions so i usually drive slower and more cautious. common sense.

I'm usually the a hole doing 90-100, but even I slow down if I can't see where I'm gong.
