People flash their lights for all sorts of reasons. They're less likely telling you that your lights are on as much as they're warning you that there is something to beware of up ahead (usually a police officer).
There are other reasons that people flash their lights as well - perhaps you have on your brights? Maybe one of your headlights is out? Is your skirt hanging out the side of your door? Maybe your trunk is open. It's not a very effective way to bring someone's attention to something because they generally have no idea what you're flashing them for, but by the same token, don't assume they're trying to tell you that your lights are on. |

I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHY THEY FLASH YOU. THERE ARE SOME CARS THATS HAVE LIGHTS THAT COME ON AUTOMATICALLY, AND TURN OFF WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. |

other people think you are not aware of this, however in some states it is illegal to be on during day time and in others it is the law. however, they are to be on from dusk to dawn. it is a good thing it is a good safety issue for yourself and it made people know that you are there good work |

Could be a reason you don't observe while driving. Maybe one of the head lights is out?
Check it out, I bet they don't flash you for no reason. |

Did you mean Dim & Dip? If it is dim & dip it is legal, you have missunderstood thier intensions. Dim & Diping of headlinghts signal given by the driver form the back that his wants to overtake you. The same way if you are overtakeing a vehicle on the same lane and driver form the opposite lane flashs his light it means that he means that he is at higher speed do not overtake untill he passes away. |

In Texas, flashing your lights at oncoming traffic is a warning there is a speed trap up ahead. |

Do you have an American car with daytime running lights?
There are 2 sets of lights on the car, the outer (low beams) and inner (high beams). For some reason, some American car manufacturers decided to use the inner lights for the daytime running lights. If that's the case with your car, people may see that and assume your high beams are on.
No, it isn't illegal - it's even required in some states in work zones, if it's raining, etc. |
