It really depends on a lot of things. The person driving may hate everyone driving on the road, or may be having a bad day to begin with. Plus many people who get passed do so because they don't know the rules of courtesy driving. Such as slower traffic yields to the right most lanes. Most people have the common sense to not drive the speed limit in the fast lane. It also depends on how the person passed another person. If they did it really quickly while having to tailgate another car in the other lane, than that is really dangerous, and one has every right to be mad, but if it was just like a regular lane change, speeding up, then lane change again, there really isn't that much to be angry at. |

I was just talking about this with my boyfriend. He said it is because they feel "challenged".
I look at it like, if Im not going fast enough for someone, I would want them to go around me or pass me rather than be on my a**!
If a car runs up on my a**, I get over without hesitation, it is common courtesy. |

It's sounds like this guy is already on his way.
I don't like when I'm doing the speed limit and people pass me but I can't let them know, for their sake and mine.
But I won't pull that in the fast lane.
Is that where he was? I call those people "peacekeepers" 'cause they think they're cops. |

I dont get mad when some one passes me, i am glad because you will get the ticket not me. the only reason i could think someone would get mad is because the person who did the passing was tailgating but till they got the opertunity to pass or they cut in front of the other car after passing, or both. |

Where you tailgating him prior to passing him?
That is extremely annoying and a bad habit driving too close behind someone. when passing while keeping your distance, which should be about a car length for every 10 mph first put on your signal and he should be able to see this in rear view mirror.
(at night it's customary to tap your high beams when passing just for a second or even tap your horn, depends on the type of road, also if you see a double solid line don't pass)
Hopefully he will back off the gas a little allowing you to smoothly make your pass, if he has a problem with it then he'd speed up a bit , then you may not have the need. It's important to have a good sense of road etiquette.It was out of line for him to flip the finger unless you were riding his bumper too close , too long, also when passing make sure you are far enough ahead before going back into the lane.
Interstate driving usually has a protocol of driving on the right except to pass, beware of drivers that appear to be in a hurry going in and out of lanes rapidly. By leaving enough room you stand a much better chance of avoiding accidents |
