Why do people speed when there is no other options but to be patient on the roads.?

i think the type of car can be a factor.some people with fast sports cars cant help but put their foot down now and again just to get the thrill.

Any one of the below will explain this which to me is still no excuse.....

they are rushing to get somewhere

they are stressed out from high traffic volume

they are having marital problems or other personal crises

they are suffering from work frustrations

they have difficulty getting in touch with their emotions

they are depressed

they have difficulty releasing stress or managing anger

I don't know where you live but speeding gets you there faster.
At least in California.

I have noticed that people who live elsewhere drive horribly slow. So maybe in your area it doesn't help. In which case I don't know.
