imagine trying to get that many kids to buckle up for one thing, then they would tie them in knots, another head ache for someone to deal with, and if you check out the number of miles driven/versus accidents, pretty much answers the question itself. I have driven school bus for many years, also drove motor-coach, which did have seat belts in the front most seats |

Can you imagine an accident and they all are locked down to seat blets???? Their lives might be saved!!!!! You must be nuts!!!

well first off have you seen the size of kids today? Lets raise your taxes so kids can have seat belts on buses. Also let's see how many kids we can squeeze into them seats two at most. That means who gets on first and when the bus is full what do we do leave the other students to walk. Think about it. |

they figure that in case of an accident, the high seat in front will provide a cushion as u're propelled forward. of course, u'll probably end up in someone's lap, but hey, at least u stopped, right? someone needs to bring this to the attention of the cops. it's an untapped gold-mine. if they can give regular drivers tickets for not putting their kids in seat-belts, then why can't they do the same with the school district? |

Because most commonly if an accident was to happen the bus would roll on it's side and if a child is in an accident for them to unbuckle themselves mid air is hard. Any other accident the car / truck would be damaged before the bus would take much impact |

School bus vans do. Large buses are very well constructed,compartmentalized, and would present more problems with belts for each student. |

because studies have show that it is actually more dangerous in most accidents (has to do with getting 40 kids out of vehicle afterwards). |

Well, first of all you have a seat that acts kind of like a barrier in front of you. Second of all, buses move about two mph,and third of all the government probably doesn't want to pay for them. |
