if the sign says slow down and be prepared to stop cause theres a flagger ahead durring construction dont speed up and pretend you didnt see the signs. there in plain sight, its called road safe rules, save a life and pay attention please.

Because people just don't care. They are on the road for themselves - no one else matters. In fact they believe that everyone should yield to them. Traffic laws are for the other guys, not them.
I saw a sign on the tailgate of a truck once that said "It's mind over matter - I don't mind and you don't matter" Sorta said it all. |

I have seen them drive around our flagmen and into blasting zones. Scarey. I often see the same disregard on construction sites. There are reasons that workers wear safety boots and hard hats. |

thank you--I always irk people behind me b/c I follow the construction zone signs...fines ARE usually doubled in those zones. |

for the same reason that people don't follow any of the other rules or signs that are required of them: the rules do not apply to them-they are special!
People park in handicapped spaces, not because they are handicapped, but because they are lazy, they take up these spaces that are needed by truly handicapped persons.
The speed limit is only a "suggestion" on the highway.
Just take a look around you, people ignore so much direction that is put out for them, because it is easier for them and the fact that they are teaching their children to disregard the rules is a non-issue for them. |

um...you have to obey them here..if youre even going 2 mph and tap at worker its a 10,000 fine and you lose your license for life |

Calm down Eagle Scout. People don't slow down because they know it's a formality that needs to go away. Just because they put up cones doesn't mean you should reduce you speed to a crawl. The lanes are still open it just that people are "slowly" working yards away. |
