I agree.
Unfortunately, most people are so selfish, they don't care about anything but their own pathetic agenda. |

you are so right.it should be a requirement that they have to be able to answer questions on their driving tests about being safe around big trucks. be able to locate the blind spots etc. |

You know it's funny you should post this. I work in a grocery store and I do receiving... I was just talking to one of our driver's about this very topic. I can't believe how stupid people in regular vehicles can be when driving around semi's. I always see people on the freeway trying to wedge their way in front of a truck to catch an exit because they are too stupid to think ahead. Do they not realize how difficult it can be to stop a big rig??? I think that the D.M.V. should make each and every one of us drive a big rig on the freeway during rush hour traffic so that a simple tiny bit of perspective can be built. Not to mention, on the city streets when a big rig driver has to make a left hand turn.... hello people.....they need more than one lane to complete the turn safely........do the world a favor and give them the space they need or we just might see you on the 5 o'clock news. We all have somewhere to go..... let's get there safely!!!!! |

I agree, I live in a place where big Bull-racks full of pigs or cattle come past a stoplight down the street to get to the interstate. Them damn idiot cars don't allow the trucker enough room. I've seen truckers have to jump the curb into the Taco-John's lawn because the people won't move. For us farmers it is pretty much the same, during harvest going down the road and idiots just cruise on past nearly hitting us. I can't stand those kind of people. I hope one day I can drive a truck and hall a bunch of cattle. I just want you to know that whatever you are trucking is making a difference probably the idiots who won't move. Thank you for doing your job. Good luck on the trucking business! |

I think that drivers get smug in their cars because they feel so safe. They do stupid stuff like cutting in too close to a truck or bus. I pointed out to someone recently that trucks have blind spots. Also, a truck is much bigger than a car. If you cut in too close, he can't stop on a dime. If he hits your car, it would be like a foot stepping on an ant. Hopefully, that person got the picture. |

I totally agree! I live in Southern California, so I travel some pretty busy freeways to and from work and school everyday. I cannot count the times I have seen people cut in front of a trucker last minute to make an exit, tailgate them at dangerously close proximity, or get in front of the trucker to slow down significantly to where the trucker has to slow their speed down considerably so he/she doesn't plow into the back of the vehicle. I have a little mustang, and I know it's no match for a semi, so I keep respectful distances and never ever swerve in front of one. I'm not looking to be a bug on any grills! |

True. I live in a split speed limit state. It causes too much trouble. |

So sorry, me bad. By the way, countless truck drivers every year killed innocent car drivers because of speeding & lack of sleep. Take that to your boss!!! |
