Firstly get yourself a copy of the dvd `The great global warming swindle' so you may be properly educated but don't release your findings because you'll flunk for being anti-establishment. Cars are bad for the environment in many ways.
As far as global warming is concerned man has very little impact. As far as breathable oxygen, they put out incarcogenes?!? however with un-leaded fuel and catatylstic conversion and LPG, even that is being corrected.
Other environmental issues which are more dire are tyre disposal, battery waste disposal, oil disposal, car body disposal, offroad vehicles ripping up natural habitat and other plant life, off-road motorcycles which cause heat from their baffles and can actually cause bush & forest fires, Beach erosion from off-roaders, road-kill, and disruption to habitats of rare and endagered species from highway noise.
As far as global warming is concerned, blame the trees, yes falling rotting leaves from the one thing that provides sustainable oxygen also emmits one third of greenhouse gases. The ocean lets off just under two thirds (about 60%) and the other 10% is divided by 3% being human made greenhouse emissions, and the other 7% being methane as a result of animal gases.
In short, global warming is an institute not a science and climate change is caused by two sources, #1 The natural Earth cycle and #2 Solar activity.A lot of the extreme weather we are seeing nowdays has been predicted over a decade in advance to the day in many cases by a british scientist who used solar activity to predict weather.

Unfortunately, your grade may depend on how much you agree with the global warming alarmists.

First, we need to address the assumption that man is influencing global temperatures. Compare the greenhouse effect of water vs. CO2.

Secondly, we need to take a realistic view of what happens when temperatures are high. The dire predictions are simply not true. In the middle ages when temperatures were warmer than today, Greenland was green, we didn't lose miles of coastline due to flooding.

the exhaust from an internal combustion engine is harmful for the air.

it doesn't matter if you believe in global warming or not. car exhaust is responsible for most smog in city area's. even if you don't believe in global warming, its pretty obviously that smog is evident, and people are getting sick because of it. more people are developing breathing problems, and people are actually getting really ill.
and for global warming, CO2 emmissions are pumped into the air, and traps sunlight which in turn in general warms the earth. but someplaces actually will get colder. for example, europe. they rely on the gulf stream, which is an ocean current to keep europe warm. if all the glaciers melt into the ocean, the ocean's would cool, and the gulf stream will stop. so then europe will freeze. btw, have you noticed how far north europe is, but they barely have any winter at all? now you know why.

just as a side note, your average car emmits around 8 tonnes of CO2 per year.

LMAO!!! btw, back then green land was NOT green! it was called greenland and iceland was called iceland to confuse the vikings or something like that. i heard it from history class. people in iceland didn't want the vikings, so they called the warm place iceland, and the cold place greenland

Look at exhaust pipe emissions and you'll see. From a gasoline engine you have:
-carbon monoxide
-carbon dioxide
-oxides of nitrogen ( NOx)
-hydrocarbons ( HC )

Not good stuff to be pumped out by millions of cars on a daily basis worldwide.

UCANTCME
One example are the vehicles pollutants that are emitted in the air and just in California with the smog testing they stop around 400 tons of smog-forming pollutants from California’s air every day.
