i think the centres just want more money to use on whateva they use on lol they dont want to pass people it seems by looking at the number of people they fail! its them old buggas that tend to fail everyone. im lucky cos when i passed, i had this nice young guy, and i was driving really good, not nervous or anything cos i thought forget this, im just driving like i do lol and i passed!! i was wel happy. i could've hugged the examiner as wel lol x |

I'd always suspected that the driving tests were getting easier due to the vast amount of numpties on our roads. If I'm to understand from your question that the test is indeed difficult, then, wahoo! so it should be. I don't believe that the centres are out to make money, they are there to ensure that learner drivers reach a good enough standard to be considered safe and competent before handing over a licence. If you keep failing your test, then you should question your own ability behind the wheel and make sure you reach a better standard before keep handing over your hard earned. Change your driving instructor if you have one. |

It can take a few times to pass you practical. The standard in the UK are higher than in many other countries.
If you keep failing change your driving instructor or take the test at another location.

I passed first time ,you need alot of practice ,practice practice , then you be a better ,very good driver , and becaand use you are new to the thing you got to get used to it , so you have the car in your grib , then its not hard only until you feel you are ready , the intructor should tell you this, is when you pass, you must focus, concentrate , and believe you can do it , then you can |

My advice as an instructor is:- find a professional (qualified) instructor to help you to learn to drive correctly and be able to carry out the required manouevres to pass the UK practical test - which is of a high standard but if you are a competent driver you will be successful. |

It's not difficult. You just have to learn how to drive properly before taking the test. |

It's not difficult, it just needs lots of practice to become good enough. Good luck. |

It cant be too easy or the roads would become dangerous. Although its not that hard as many many very poor drivers pass their test as most road users will testify. |

I don't think that the Test Centres are money making institutions, being government run and very busy. It's simply a matter of learning how to pass the test, which some of us find more difficult than others. It involves relaxing, forgetting that the examiner is making notes beside you and just getting on with the job of driving as well as you possibly can and doing everything as instructed. I took a long time to pass my test because I used to become very tense and then make mistakes. I once met someone who had been driving for years and years and was disqualified, with the court ordering him to take a new test, and he was unable to pass his driving test after all those long years of experience because he had accumulated many bad habits. The way to pass is to work out what your particular problem is and sort it out. I understand that examiners prefer to pass people, as it involves less paperwork for them! Good luck next time! |

It's not difficult - passed mine first time too.
Get just a LOT more practice and you'll be OK.
Also, it's 'hard' for a good reason - we don't want drivers on the road that are worse than they are now!! |

These past few years, the DVLA has achieved higher standards which is something that I always have to remember everytime I moan about how this country has started to p*** me off (overtaxation, high cost of living, horrible traffic jams, weakening political structure, blah-blah-blah).
They're just doing their job. Maybe we could have a re-test of these stupid drivers who passed their exam few 2-3 decades ago littering our roads (not looking at their mirrors, not indicating where they're going, staying on the outside lane when they've no business to be there, etc). How did they ever get their license? Save the question for another thread I suppose. |
