If tires were made of lead, car and truck rollovers would be almost non-existent. Why has no one thought of this yet?

I'm guessing it's because lead is toxic. It would scrape off on the roads and leak into the water supply. We'd all be screwed. |

cause lead is unsafe..
and i don't think they have the longivity of rubber

Rollovers would still happen. Think about all the large, heavy vehicles already on the road, and they STILL roll over. All the technology in the world is still not proof against bad driving.
It is not just the weight, it has to do with the center of gravity, AND, considering the materials used for tires, it is more important to have good traction for the driver to maitain control of the vehicle. Having a rigid, inflexible material on the wheels would CAUSE more collisions, because even good drivers wouldn't be able to turn safely.
In a way, someone HAS thought along these lines. That is why race cars are built so low to the ground. They will spin around before they actually roll over. AND thier tires are designed to STICK to the road surface. |

I think in most cases it is the driver that causes roll over and not the tires. I also think you need a hobby. |
