Why right lane is the slow lane ?

A couple of reasons.

1. when you're driving along the highway most of the exits are to the right. You're going to be slowing down to get off the highway to get off it. Likewise a person pulling onto the highway automatically goes into the right lane and it'll take them a few seconds to get up to speed. You always have a constant change of speed happening in that lane.

2. The driver sits on the left side of the car. Therefore it is easier to see cars passing you when they're coming up on the same side as you are. So for a safety reason it's better to have the faster drivers passing you on the left.

first off it is because trucks can only go so fast and it is hard for them to see some one passing on the right so if they were in the fast lane and want to get off at an exit the might not see some one n the right. Second that is where most on and off ramps are so people are going to be going slower then the speed limit

Because the right lane is where 90% of the merging traffic comes in or exits. In countries where you drive on the left side of the road it is opposite. We would not want to be trying to merge with traffic running 75 mph.

2. most big rigs stay in the right lane.
3. The Law in the U.S. say to do it.
4. Most exits are on the right side of the road.
5. Most on ramps are on the right side of the road.
6. My brother in law was a trucker and he said that a big rig can see a car better when it is to the left of them!

The right lane is designated as the slow lane because that is point of entrance and exit to the highway where vehicles are constantly merging.

Trucks are usually doing 55 where in most states the speed varies from 55 to 65 maybe 75 and when correctly driving you only pass a truck on the left because it is easier for them to see the small cars...and since trucks are much bigger they control the traffic
