I think it's a great idea. For one it should lower everyone's insurance some. I also think it's strange that if you are under 18 we say you are not old enough to drink, smoke, vote, fight in a war, but you are old enough to be out in a dangerous machinery that can put lots of people's lives in danger. I also think that this countries kids are suffering academically compared to others. One main reason is that there are too many distractions. Kids working 20+ hours a week, even having multiple jobs to buy unnecessary things including extravagant cars is a huge distraction when a kids top priority should be school. I really think raising the driving age to 18 and making the testing process a little more difficult would be a good thing for the whole country. |

because underage drivers cause alot more accidents then older people..not that 18 year old are perfect drivers but a 16 year finds it so easy to make a very stupid decision..look up the statistics on the Califonia Highway Patrol page |

It's not such a bad idea to raise the driving age. However , I have noticed that there are many people who are older than 18, who need to take an "attitude test", if there were such a thing, because they speed, cut people off, squeal their tires, and crank up their bass, all to impress people who don't want to be bothered with their stupidity. There are some young people who are more responsible and wiser than some of the crazies over 18. |
