I came to a complete stop but I was in the crosswalk before I turned right on a red light. I saw the camera flash but it might have been the cars going the other way. Did I break the law?

I think that, technically, you did break the law. When you turn right on a red, you still need to stop behind the crosswalk before you inch up to look at oncoming traffic. However, in order to issue you a ticket, the camera would have to have captured both your front and rear license plates and your face. There is little chance it caught your rear plate because you didn't go through the intersection.

Unless it's posted "NO TURN ON RED" then it is legal to stop then turn on red. Technically you should have stopped behind the cross walk, but the camera picture cannot prove that you didn't stop behind the cross walk. Even if the camera shows your tires in the crosswalk you can say you had already stopped behind the cross walk and you were inching up to the intersection for a better view to make sure it was safe to make the turn. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. It can't be proven that you did anything wrong unless like I said there was a sign that said "NO TURN ON RED". |

Technically yes, stopping in the crosswalk is not allowed.
But the camera might not show exactly what happened, so you might be safe. |

Yes maybe No. It is all according to how the camera is set up U C. If your vehicle travels past the photo line first before U stop well then Guess what? or it is like U said a reflection off another vehicle. U 'll find out in the next 10 days though. Hope for the best. And oh, did U know that in the state of FLA. that U can also make a LEFT on RED on a 1 - way street not to many remember this from their driving test. |

Yes you did, and many red light cams are now set up to bust right turners who don't stop behind the crosswalk line, so be careful. Stop BEHIND the crosswalk, then Proceed fwd with caution. |
