Will a passenger seat belt 1st offense go on the driver's record in CA?

Just got a citation in CA because the passenger on the rear seat was not wearing his seatbelt. I intend to pay the fine, but as the driver, will this go on my record?

Its unfair but i think you;ll find it is the drivers responsibility

If the passenger was over the age of 16 then no and if under the age of 16 then yes.

California courts and DMV are very serious when children under 16 are not properly secured in a vehicle. If cited for a child passenger seat restraint not being used, drivers may receive one â€œpoint countâ€ on their driving record in CA.

Typically minor offenses remain on a CA MVR for 3 years.
