Will driving with 4 out of 5 Studs effect my car?

I currently have a 5 Stud tyre. Unfortunately one of the threading is gone, and isn't really replaceable without changing the whole hub.

I'm just wondering if its safe to be driving with 4 of only 5 Bolts and Studs? Its going to cost a lot of money to replace the entire hub so if i can get away with using only 4 for a long time i'll be happy.

I did it for years on my old Pontiac.

Only when you come for your annual safety check when the vehicle will be failed if the missing stud is spotted, or if you have an accident.
There are five studs for a reason, based upon the weight of the vehicle, silly to take a chance when it can be so easily fixed.

i wouldn't trust it! you should be able to remove the damaged stud by
knocking it out with a hammer (after removing the hub from the axle)

While slightly dangerous, you should be fine. However, if you feel the car starting to shake while driving pull over immediately and tighten the lug nuts. Otherwise you should be fine as long as the other lug nuts are properly torqued.
