Aluminum is what you would wont on a salty road because it wont corrode like steel does .You will need to keep the wheel bearing checked and may wont to replace the grease so the bearings wont corrode.

Keep it clean and you should have no problems. It would take many winters to cause problems. Wash it once a week if you are pulling it every day. Wash it each time you use it if you pull it less than once a week.

First off aluminum generally lasts longer than steel, it oxidizes slower. However, if there are any spots on the aluminum that contact steel (bolts, brackets, braces) it will corrode quite quickly. Don't know what size of trailer your talking about, but I've had to replace aluminum frames on transport truck tanker trailers before, because they corroded right through where they sat on the steel frame. My advice is to clean it regularly during the winter, and have it oil sprayed before winter for the best protection.

Just spray the complete trailer with WD40 and that will take care of any problems...
