We were supposed to be doing that in the year 2000. Look where we are now. We are not even in hybrids barely. |

No it would cause total havoc |

It is unlikely. In order to have "flying cars" we would need to do extensive research, and it is more practical and cost effective to drive.....especially in today's economy. |

Not Rep or Dem!!

they have been promising us flying cars since the 1950's, I'll believe it when i see it. |

Everyone would wish for this, but there is no safe way to make flying cars safe in case of a crash.
that is harder than making a car fly so... i guess we wont fly ever. |

This IS the future and many of us already fly. I just took a trip to Cincinatti, last year on Delta. |

Actually, there has been flying cars made already! It's really cool. I read an article about it a while ago. http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/industry_sectors/engineering/article5489287.ece |

I don't think most people could be trained to be safe fliers. Many don't even drive cars very well. Because of this and because flying uses more energy (ie gasoline), I doubt that many will be flying. |

You can't even trust people driving on the ground! I wouldn't want to see the average person flying. Drunk fliers anyone? |

Hm...that's a difficult question. Ten years earlier, we were told that today, technology would be extremely advanced. However, I don't see any robots occupying our local streets! In the future, there may be someone revolutionary who will advance our technology, thus leading to flying. But, start thinking...do you really think this is going to happen? Definately NOT 100 years from now... |

there are flying cars already in prototype stages. theyre pretty dope. i saw it on future cars on the discovery channel. but as of right now they need tons of devolpment. |

New small planes are available for a similar price to new small cars. They ARE effectively flying cars. The thing that's hold people back from using them as such is licensing.
You need different licences to fly at day and night, rain and fog, in different countries.
The common routes aren't marked, you have to take a map and GPS and work them out in advance.
It is not the lack of technology that's holding flying cars back, it's unwillingness of the public to pilot their own flying vehicle. |

I predict yes. but not soon. probably not in any of our enerations,. actually definalty not.
It is mostly 50-50 whether it'll ever happen. nore to the NO side though.! |

if we survive then it's a possibility. but with the condition right now, lack of natural resources and global warming, that seems rather distant...
(- -;;; but yah, it's definitely possible. |

no look at global warming and the fuel and oil we are putting in the air. do you really think people are going to put that much more fuel into the air. The airplanes tht we use now use an incredibly amount of gas and id say that will be super expensive |
