I was driving in middle lane and he was driving 1st lane. My car was just beside his car.He tried to changed the lane (he didn't see my car because my car was JUST by his car,I guess) and hit my car. He came to me 3 times to apologize to me while I was shaking and crying in my car. When police came, he told to police that I HIT his car. I found out when I got the police report. I was so stupid to trust human like him. My mom always said that humans are to be loved not to be trusted. Anybody who witnessed this accident, PLEASE contact me. PLEASE PLEASE. On May 6, 2010 , it was thursday around 6:50 in the morning on New York LIE to west , exit bet 20 and 19. My car is lexus sedan and his car is old SUV.

Thanks, guys. Of course i will reward to witness, but I heard it's illegal to do that because there might be false witness. If witness contact me, she/he will spend her/his time and energy for me(even including writing email to me). And I'll reward for that of course.

If your car was hit in the front while his in the back then it will be apparent in court who was at fault. You certainly didn't merge into him with him being fully visible while merging into someone who is in one's blind spot (failed to check the blind spot) is common. Simply report the accident how it occurred to your insurance company and they will fight against his insurance company for you. They certainly will not pay if it was his fault.
You will certainly have to go to court on this one, but a Judge isn't stupid. They will know who is lying and who is telling the truth.
The benefit of having an insurance company is to fight this sort of BS, they will do anything to get out of paying the damages. |

What you are doing is correct but they would not be able to tell who is a fault just from the damages as stated above, i hope that your insurance company is doing their part as well but what I have seen that helps also is you should offer a reward for this information and this you will get back from the other person/insurance company when they settle.... |
