Wow, THAT'S a dangerous one! Having spent a lifetime on the roads (it seems to me), I've begun to feel that IN GENERAL most women seem to view driving as just another domestic chore to be undertaken amidst numerous others, whereas IN GENERAL men seem to be more connected with the task immediately in hand. Perhaps there's a difference in the psyche.

Yes, I've seem women applying makeup, yakking on the mobile and turning to see the face of the rear seat passenger they're yapping with. I've also seen men picking their noses, scratching their b alls and even shaving while driving.

Absolutely not. I've seen many women run over the curb because they were trying to drive, talk on the phone, and apply eye liner at the same time. It's usually the women that I see turning without looking first, and pulling out at red lights and then slamming on the brakes when they're already half way in the intersection. Not to be offensive, but my general observation is that women don't seem to use as much common sense when driving, although they tend to be less aggressive than their male counterparts.

Not sure what state you live in but where I live there are more accidents caused by female drivers then by males (I have seen the accident statistics for my state) Last year 78% of Traffic accidents where CAUSED by female drivers. Now this does not mean that they where involved in the accident just that they caused it in some fashion or where involved. Seen some crazy things in my time. Make up while driving? that's crazy. BTW I have seen more soccer moms have road rage then I have men. Women just can't let it go.

Well, insurance companies like you, so there must be some weight in your point.
Although, there is a breed of young women that is easily as agressive etc. as any man. Then again, it may not be agression so much as lack of thought? dont know

I agree that the majority of women are the best drivers etc. But there are a few that let us down. Some can be just as bad as the men, and in some cases, even worse.

They may not have road rage, but they cause road rage in others.
Best drivers . . . . LOL . . . Not!
safe . . . . If you call putting on war paint (make-up) with their face 3 inches away from the mirror while talking on a cell, safe, Then I guess their safe.
Rarely get a ticket cause when they get pulled over, they just unbutton a few & wha-lah

no its not true a lot of women cause the accidents some of them drive far to aggressivelyso it is not just men that drive badly

i have to be honest ...young ladies drive too close think they are racing drivers,smoke and send text or talk while driving, if they think someone is going to get to the next set of lights they speed up to show us who is quicker bla bla more bla ......not all young uns do it but a lot do and with children in cars while sporting a "baby on board" sticker

It's a myth! Most men don't like to hit women so we try to avoid hitting them when we are about to, as a result we end up hitting something else.
That is the real reason men have more accidents than women!!
And of course we we get raging mad..............rage.............

I'm sure you have opened a can of worms with this question!
I have been driving for quite a while now and I can honestly say that yes, women in general are safer drivers, however, it has to be said that there are some who drive like lunatics. I was overtaken by a Peugeot 206 yesterday and I was doing 70, I would have laid money on it being a boy racer but it was a young woman. I do have the odd occasion when I suffer from road rage usually caused by a man!
