I crashed(nothing major) my car yesterday after heading into a turn too fast. It was a beautiful car that i loved and now i put a dent in it.
I cant help feeling like im an idiot.
Damage
Mirror on the side of car has a broken class
left hand door handle demolished
& theres a dent in the rear

That is actually pretty minor. You can get it fixed like knew. Was anyone hurt? Any accident you can walk away from is good.
Just slow down and drive careful, next time you might not be so lucky.
In Wisconsin if you are at fault for an accident and seriously injure someone, you are liable for $150,000 right off the bat. If you kill someone you will be liable for $300,000. There is no getting out of it either so if you do not have insurance coverage that high, you are screwed. I hear most states have laws similar so be happy you are not in a situation like that. |

If you have a Francis Tuttle or other "VoTech" type school around where you live, you can take your car into their automotive department and they will do body work for free. Everyone there are all students and their teachers, they use little things like that just as a learning experience anyway and the instructors usually don't mind because it gives them practice. |

Change to higher gear, say 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd gear before the turn and ensure the car moves while on gear, not free gear while applying the foot brake.
On straight roads with 2 lanes in one direction keep speed to 60kph, 3 lanes to 70-80kph, 4 lanes to 90-110kph. Do not copy others and speed beyond 120kph. If there is a blow-out, it's difficult to control the car. Wish you safe driving from now on! |
