Most likely yes. You can die instantly only going at least 32 mph. If that's doubled, than there's probably no chance of living. |

absolutely. at 25 mph a 12 lb baby in a crash is converted to a 240 lb force. if you do the math. a 180 pound person in a crash at 65 mph is converted to approximately a 9000 lb force.
if the vehicle in question crashes into a semi...it is roughly the equivalent of crashing into a "soft wall", as in the walls in the nascar circuit that absorb a small fraction of impact due to the "allowance of movement" of the wall. the semi will move from the point of impact but not that much.
a 9000 lb force colliding with a slightly movable wall...
survival is not likely.
this week two semis...one pulling a trailer...one bobtail. collided head on at about 55 mph on a highway near my home. both drivers were killed instantly. the semis were mangled wrecks. spilling diesel fuel all over the road and into nearby creeks.
so if the driver of the bobtail hit the hauling semi head on at 55 mph.
both drivers killed instantly.
the driver of the fiberglass and aluminum focus...really doesn't stand a chance. and if...IF he survives...he will likely be a vegetable or horribly scarred and or burned. |

most likely, that's a big a** vehicle hitting a tiny car at a high speed. |

No. It make take a few very painful seconds for him to die. |

Chances are that the people in the Focus would be killed, then again, in almost any vehicle the people in the vehicle would be killed. Then again, people have a way of surviving things that should have killed them. I skidded off the highway 3 weeks ago to avoid a semi head on, I skidded across 3 lanes of traffic, and rolled into the ditch doing 90km/h into trees, I landed on my roof 50 feet below road level and about 100 feet further up the road from where my truck left the road and the ground completly. I stopped when I hit a tree with the front of my truck and another tree into the passenger door and slid down to the ground like that. Going about 50mi/ hours off a 50 foot bank into trees, and ripping them out the groudn I should ahve been killed. I walked up the hill, flagged a guy down, had him look me over for anything major, then I climbed back down and grabbed my stuff, and climbed back up the hill. I walked away with some cuts to my neck from the broken glass of my driver side window exploding out, and a cut up hand from where it slid across the windshield from when i cut my seat belt off and landed on the roof of the truck (i landed upside down), and then i brused a rib trying to crawl out. So it is possible to survive something that no one should have, even a horrific wreck. It's been done time and time again with no logical reason how. |

Thats a combined 130mph. Anyone in any car would likely die hitting something as large/heavy as a semi at 130mph. |

The accident you describe, if not fatal, they person, upon surviving, would no doubt spend a good portion of the rest of their life wishing it had been fatal. I have never heard of a semi and a compact meeting head on at 65 mph where the truck driver was killed and the auto jockey walked away |
