ok so i went to Santa Cruz, CA today (a 2 hr trip) with 4 other people and made it there just fine. on the way back, the driver got pulled over in Tracy, CA by the highway patrol. the front two passengers were wearing their seat belts but the back 3 passengers (i'm included) were ticketed for a traffic violation. all 3 of us are 16 and over. we didn't have on the seat belts because they were stuck within the seat, but we were ticketed anyway. my fiance has a driver's license in from a different state, so...
1) would this count against her on her driving record?
2) i don't have my license yet but when i do, would it affect my driving record?
3) how much would the ticket be? (this is a first offense for all 3 of us, and it's in Tracy, CA)
4) do i HAVE to go to court all the way in Tracy or can i just pay the ticket amount?
the court date is not until April 29, and my fiance was planning on going back to AZ this month. but with the court date, we're not sure if she can leave just yet or if she HAS to go to court...
please help???

play by the rules and you should be fine. pay the fine,and remember to wear your seatbelt (dig them out of the seat) |

It could take the officer 4 to 6 weeks to send the ticket to the courthouse, wait a couple weeks for a courtesy notice to come in the mail, if it doesn't come in then call the courthouse to see how much is the ticket. Around 128.00, it is not a moving violation so you do not have to take traffic school. U can also mail in your payment just as long as the ticket has been put in the system. |

Everybody pay their fines and get it out of the way. In Ontario, Canada the no seat belt fine is $110 and 2 demerit points. Could be similar in California. Depending on reciprocity agreements between California and Arizona, it may show up on your fiance's driver licence. |

it's going to count against the driver, unless that is not the driver's car.
i think that you can just pay the fine.
I am not 100% sure though, so look into it with some city people. they should know.
Maybe you or some one you know has friends that work with stuff like that. |
