Would this affect my settlement?

I was walking on the sidewalk and saw a pickup truck coming towards me. I moved out of the way but the pickup truck followed me and hit me and attempted to run over me and kill me. He drove off but was caught and charged. I was fortunately that most of my injuries were superficial and didn't have any broken bones. I am limited to lifting 10 pounds for two months. Since this wasn't really an accident and the guy apparently was trying to kill me does this affect my settlement? BTW I never saw the guy before in my life.

That sounds like attempted manslaughter and / or drunk driving ... and the settlements in those cases are determined by jury and skilled tort lawyers.

Get a skilled lawyer and sign the contract which gives him 25% of the award and put he legal system to work....

Cost of health care + cost of rehabilitation + Loss of wages + loss of future earnings + pain and suffering and mental stress on your loved ones .....

Take this idiot and his insurance company for everything you can wring out of them!

If the guy intentionally run you over, this is attempted murder, which meant there will have a criminal charge against him. But I don't think you are able to claim his insurance for the damages he cost to you, as most motor vehicle insurance don't cover such cases. You can lodge a civil claim against him, but provided he is able to pay you, as most likely he is going to the prison.

Are you referring to an auto insurance settlement? You've got to be kidding. If this bozo actually tried to kill you (aka vehicular homicide) then his insurance isn't going to pay you one thin dime. No intentional criminal act is covered under the auto policy.

Settlement??? Who would you be expecting an offer of settlement from? If you have auto insurance you could make a claim under uninsured motorist.
